A. C.MacDonald Designer/Maker Silversmithing

“Aged six I was taught to knit by my mother. Thus started a creative journey which I have followed ever since.Time spent in Denmark heightened my awareness of good design and manufacture.Colour, texture and shape have also been important influences. I aim to work on creating simple stylish tableware for present and future generation to use and enjoy.”

Agalis Manessi

The work lies with the tradition of maiolica and celebrates this rich historical medium through influences ranging from Italian Istoriato dishes to the simplicity of humble folk wares. Drawing upon experiences of viewing subjects in churches, museums and galleries and observations directly from life, the work is inspired by portraits and animals depicted in Renaissance and contemporary paintings.
