#MeetTheMakers - Ceramics

This is our second presentation of makers who will be showcasing ceramics and pottery at Made London Marylebone! The Design and Craft fair offers the perfect opportunity to add a unique touch to your home or kitchen - all handmade!

Colours of the Land

Lise Herud Braten finds inspiration in the textures of craggy rocks, lichen, moss and layered tree bark, as well as the organic shapes, asymmetry and imperfection that makes nature so beautiful. Each piece is handmade and unique, either thrown on a wheel or built by hand, or often a combination of the two. She uses a mix of stoneware and porcelain clays, and fires to 1260C in an electric kiln.

Elaine Bolt

Elaine Bolt is a ceramic artist working with clay and mixed media, creating works and compositions guided by a sense of narrative and steeped in the context of the local surroundings. Her work includes hand-built mixed media framed objects and thrown vessels in porcelain, terracotta, local clays and mixed-media.

Elizabeth Renton Ceramics

Ceramic Tableware using Stoneware and Porcelain. Elizabeth throws simple forms on the wheel merging traditional and modern techniques – each piece is hand formed and decorated using oxides with scratched lines, sgraffito and indentations. The pieces are glazed and fired in an electric kiln. This is a labour intensive process which concentrates awareness on the fine detail making each piece unique.

Hilary Mayo

Hilary makes collectable hand built ceramic vessels. Currently inspired by the Icelandic landscape, Hilary works from photographs and memory to produce abstract impressions of her observations and experience. She uses the clay as a canvas, applying multiple layers of glaze with a brush, so each piece is unique.
