Nina specialises in knitted animal scarves, hats, pillows and more unique items. Most items are knitted with a domestic brother knitting machine in her atelier in the Netherlands, and all are professionally hand finished using only the highest quality material such as Scottish lambswool, merino wool and cashmere.
Sam Pickard trained as a printed textile designer at Camberwell school of Art in 1982 and gained an MA at Bath Spa University in 2008. She has a studio practice in North Devon specialising in design and print for interior fabrics and accessories inspired and informed by the pattern and colour of the Exmoor Landscape.
Sarah Tyssen designs ranges of scarves, throws and blankets on a hand dobby loom in her workshop.
She is inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement, but ideas for her work come from the world around her. Sarah sees something that gives her an idea for a design, and then puts a series of warps on the loom and “plays” with constructions and colour. She loves the way colours change when you put one next to, or across another.
Sasha Kagan Hand knitting
Pattern, colour and texture are key to Sasha’s take on contemporary hand knitting. She produces highly individual, timeless designs inspired by the landscape and the changing seasons of my rural location in Mid Wales. Garments are knitted in the UK with 100% natural fibres such as alpaca, wool and silk. Her mission is to promote the craft of hand knitting and crochet as collectable art forms.
