Prints, Embroidery, Fashion - #MeetTheMakers

August 4, 2018

These featured exhibitors from  Made Marylebone Design and Craft Fair taking place October 18th-21st offer a variety of textiles, knitted items for the home and fashion clothing to suit every style!

Ekta Kaul

At the heart of her work lies a pared down aesthetic with a focus on simplicity, craftsmanship and timeless style. Ekta creates bespoke embroidered cartographic wall hangings exploring place, memories and personal narratives. She also creates small batch produced textile accessories that celebrate colour, and contemporary expressions of stitch, drawing inspiration from urban textures and aerial photography.

Emma Burton

Emma Burton is a textile and fashion designer who creates clothes, scarves and bags from fabrics that she designs by digitally printing elements from her own photography directly onto fabric. Inspiration comes from both the natural and man made world and in her work she juxtaposes the two combining for example an ornate vintage jewelled necklace with the natural texture of lichen.

Fronté

Jiyun is a fashion designer who makes intelligently simple clothing for modern women.
Having started Fronte in 2016, she aims to create the kind of wardrobe staples that are simple, utilitarian and beautiful. It is a label born out of desire for quality.
By creating timeless pieces that get better with time, as unique as always, Jiyun shows her support for slow fashion.

Craft Editions was established to celebrate and promote craft. All pieces in the collection are handmade exclusively for Craft Editions by selected craftspeople from the UK, Ireland and South Africa and are either unique or small number limited editions. Founder, Brian Waring travels extensively to find and collaborate with inspiring makers to create exquisite items for the home.

Dionne Swift

Dionne is intrigued by the structure and energy of the landscape, she draws it’s spontaneity and vigour with pencil and thread developing fluid movements in cloth and stitch…embroidery need not be a sedentary affair but one that is vivacious and spirited. Dionne hand paints scarves and creates stitched brooches & wall pieces which reflect the environment.
